An existing six-story parking facility in the Upper East Side, Manhattan, is being converted into medical offices for Mount Sinai. Stratford Engineering has designed steel framing in order to reinforce the existing structure for the building\u2019s new purpose. Existing car elevator shafts at the building\u2019s perimeter were infilled to create new floor space with street facing windows. A new centrally located elevator core was designed to allow for the installation of three new passenger elevators to serve the building\u2019s new use. Additional improvements to the building include:<\/p>\n
