Stratford Engineering was in charge of designing a new retail and office space in an existing industrial building in the Meatpacking District, Manhattan. The scope of work involved reinforcing the existing structure and foundation with new steel framing. A new temporary barricade system was implemented at the front of the existing structure prior to any construction or demolition, per the NYS building codes. Following the barricade system, a new floor system and cellar extension was designed and constructed in order to accommodate the new retail space.<\/article>\n
