Stratford Engineering worked closely with a multidisciplinary team to study the movements of the recently completed tower for the interior renovation of an upper floor. Following the completion of the study, our team developed an innovative solution to decouple the building's movement from the apartment walls in an effort to eliminate noise and cracking in the finishes. Instead of interior partitions spanning from top of slab to underside of slab above, a light gauge structural diaphragm was created above the finished ceiling level to allow walls to only be supported from the floor below - effectively eliminating the differential movement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
