An existing parish hall is being converted into a new five-story residential building with 18 apartment units. Stratford Engineering was able to preserve a portion of the existing brick structure and its foundation, while reinforcing it with new reinforced concrete foundations to support the vertical and horizontal enlargements.<\/p>\n

The new structure is comprised of reinforced concrete slabs on reinforced concrete columns and shear walls at the stair and elevator cores. Stratford Engineering was contracted to provide the full structural design in coordination with Horrigan O'Malley Architects, including demolition means and methods as well as support of excavation plans.<\/p>\n
