Description:

An existing six-story parking facility in the Upper East Side, Manhattan, is being converted into medical offices for Mount Sinai. Stratford Engineering has designed steel framing in order to reinforce the existing structure for the building’s new purpose. Existing car elevator shafts at the building’s perimeter were infilled to create new floor space with street facing windows. A new centrally located elevator core was designed to allow for the installation of three new passenger elevators to serve the building’s new use. Additional improvements to the building include:

• New rooftop mechanical equipment
• New water tower supported above new elevator shaft
• New slab at cellar level

Description:

Stratford Engineering conducted a feasibility study for a proposed expansion over the main roof of an existing 5-story cast in place concrete building. The capacity of the existing structure was analyzed and new reinforcement suggested as required. A schematic framing layout was prepared for the proposed addition consisting of steel columns, beams, and metal roof deck.

Description:

Stratford engineering conducted a feasibility study of various options to improve the central mechanical system of the hospital and provide additional HVAC capacity to serve future renovation projects being planned.

The project was a renovation of approximately 20,000 square feet of space, including new elevators, new stairs, an MRI room and other medical offices.

Description:

Stratford Engineering has been involved in a series of renovations to Beth Israel Medical Center’s Manhattan campus centered around a $40 million emergency room upgrade. Other key components include:

• A roof addition and renovation for approximately 15,000 square feet of VIP rooms and new nurse stations in the Dazian building.
• The renovation of the Dazian Emergency Entrance lobby, installation of new canopies, and a mechanical room addition, with work totalling over 20,000 square feet.
• The renovation of the Linsky and 16th St. lobbies, including the installation of new canopies.

Stratford has extensive experience in addressing the needs of health care organizations.
