Description:
Stratford Engineering was the structural engineer for the complete renovation of the existing building at 277 Northern Boulevard in Great Neck, New York. This existing two-story office building with a two-story parking garage was completely gut-renovated and reinforced after the existing structure was analyzed and inspected.
New scope of work included supporting and created the foundation for a new front entryway, a new front canopy, major facade support repairs, and miscellaneous stair openings and opening infills. New mechanical units were also added at the roof, and Stratford designed the supports for the mechanical units as well as supports for a new roof screen which concealed the units from the public.
Additionally, Stratford was in charge of inspecting and providing renovations for the existing parking levels. Several areas of the existing slab and concrete structure were deteriorated, and Stratford provided reinforcement for the existing concrete structure.
