Description:
Stratford Engineering was in charge of designing a new residential complex in Jersey City, New Jersey. This new building, located in an up-and-coming area of Jersey City, is a 5 story, 32 unit property with 15 parking spots and 2 retail spaces covering 40,000 square feet. Stratford Engineering designed a hybrid structure consisting of a cast-in-place concrete foundation, masonry shear walls, steel framing on the first two floors and wood stud bearing walls on the remaining levels. This mixed structure reduces overall costs while satisfying construction type requirements for the different occupancies.
