Description:
Stratford Engineering designed an efficient, cost effective structural system for this new six-story multiple-use building in Jackson Heights, Queens. The structure consists of cast-in-place concrete columns and two-way slabs that allow for a flexible layout while reducing material costs. The building includes two sub-grade parking levels, ground floor retail, an ambulatory health care facility, and five stories of quality housing with integrated balconies and a rooftop recreation area. In addition to working closely with the architect and other consultants, Stratford coordinated with the New York City Transit Authority to ensure that the proposed structure did not adversely impact transit structures directly adjacent to the property.
